Sources: the Magnat MC 400 brings them all together
The Magnat MC 400 stereo CD receiver has everything on board that makes a music fan’s heart beat faster. This starts with classic sources such as an FM tuner, DAB+ and of course a phono input (MM). In addition, analog connections such as jack and cinch through to digital inputs, optical and coaxial. HDMI is of course also available. The MC 400 can also be used as an impressive sound upgrade for all TV sources. Anyone who listens to CDs will love the discreetly integrated slot-in drive. The technology behind it: A professional turntable, as found in professional DJ equipment.
Music from the web, also in HD
Things get really exciting when it comes to the network capabilities of the Magnat MC 400. The Magnat receiver allows the use of Spotify Connect via Ethernet and WLAN. Additional services can be selected via the Magnat app. TuneIn allows sovereign access to tens of thousands of Internet radio stations worldwide. The MC 400 plays music with resolutions of up to 24 bits and sampling rates of up to 192 kHz. That makes him a universal genius when it comes to audio. The MC 400 also masters Bluetooth. The module used, based on the aptX-HD standard, guarantees the highest possible sound quality from any wireless source, be it a smartphone, tablet or PC.
Pioneering design, intuitive operation
With a width of 43 cm, the Magnat MC 400 amplifier has the usual hi-fi format and, despite the variety of functions, an almost minimalist operating concept. This is made possible by the 7 cm TFT screen. This not only makes operation child’s play, but also allows cover art and additional information to be displayed, depending on the source. A remote control is the second option for operation. The Magnat app, which is available free of charge for iOS and Android, makes things really convenient. The various music services can be conveniently controlled here, the music can be tracked down in the network and the multi-room functions can be used. The currently selected music can easily be extended to other rooms or decoupled from them again.
Carefully selected technology
In order to achieve all of this, Magnat dug deep into the shelves of the best audio components. The phono preamplifier for MM cartridges offers extremely low distortion values. And the Linkplay module for using the streaming services and for the multi-room capabilities also plays confidently at up to 192 kHz and 24 bits. In this way, every source can be processed and heard in the best possible quality. The discretely constructed power amplifiers are then responsible for hearing. Bipolar configured power transistors deliver 60 watts continuous and 100 watts peak power per channel.
